Sure- just be prepared to shoot and bury any worker who gets hurt while working on your property- otherwise, he'll end up owning your house.

Essentially, when you "hire" these undocumented workers, they become your "employees" and you're responsible for whatever happens while they're working for you. If one ends up falling off your roof and dying, do you think he's wife is going to tell the court "it's OK- alxy was only paying his $5/hour off the books- I'll be fine without him"? hell no- she and her merry band of kids will sue you for everything you've got.

Kinda makes that "2x, 3x premium" seem like a bargain, no?

Bob

I have to scratch my head. Immigration violations are status crimes. They have to do with being something as defined by others, not with doing anything at all. There is no relationship between immigration status and what sort of person one is. Many real low-life creeps are legal. Many very fine and upstanding people are not. Try judging people for the content of their character, not for whether they have some little piece of paper or not. Some here should frankly be pretty ashamed of themselves...

blah blah blah...The only people who should be ashamed of themselves are people who break this nation's LAWS.

This country, unlike most of the rest of the countries in the Western Hemisphere, is a country based upon the rule of law. These folks have broken the law and are therefore here illegally. It is as simple as that.

The United States does not need these illegals; we are better off without them. The USA doesn't want to become the next Brazil/Mexico.

Ha! Only to people who are unable or unwilling to fathom anything more complex than 'as simple as that'. How long has it been since you broke a law, by the way? Has it been 24 hours yet? 12?

How would you know? You can't even tell who they are, much less whether we need them or not. As a group, however, we absolutely do need them to do the work that they do, and we're rather well pleased over the wages that they're willing to do it for as well. If that weren't the case, guess what...they wouldn't be here. My guess would be that you need to stop listening to xenophobic pap and propaganda and start learning a little more about how actual markets, economies, cultures, and societies function. Seems to me you've left just about all of that part out. Sort of the down-side of simplcity there, if you will...

Default Illegals

I left North Jersey and the illegals were a factor besides the high taxes
and being overcrowded.

Crime was going through the roof and the police blotters were full of "South of the Border" names. It was not like that 40 years ago...not even close. The City of Clifton was rated upper-middle class in (census) 1983 and has since fallen two notches to lower middle class. The irony of the situation is that it takes a full houseload of illegal renters to pay the homeowner's city taxes since the city workers are still getting upper middle class wages.

We had a tremendous increase in drug traffic since Clifton, Passaic, Paterson was invaded. Hospitals in North Jersey are currently being brought to their knees because laws mandate that they give illegals free service. Would you work for free? Hell no....you have bills to pay like everyone does.

Many of these lawbreakers coming across the border are socialists and if are made legal by amnesty, will legislate this country into third worldism once they secure the electoral vote. These are reasons why you have to control even legal immigration. Hear that GW?

Diversity?.. Multi-culturalism?...That is liberal speak. IMO, neither made this country great... rather it was the goodness of each and every individual that made the United States great.

I used the information provided by of City-Data to relocate. There is no direct pipeline from the crime centers of NY and NJ cities to my little town in PA. It is like NJ was 50 years ago. The worst crime is DWIs and taxes are less than 1/3 of what they were. City services are great and affordable. You can go to HomeDepot and Walmart and hear only English! One local mayor went through his town and ripped down all the Spanish signs. Try doing that in Jersey.

Even though I bashed Jersey, it still has it's good points. I am bitter that I was forced out of the city I was born in. I frequently return to it's great restaurants and shopping malls.

I could be wrong, but I believe that if you check the laws, you'll find that they require public hospitals to treat anyone. Immigration status doesn't enter into it at all. Thus, the problem you complain of is really that there are well over 40 million people in the country who can't afford medical insurance. That's an actual problem. The one that you seem to have is that you want the clock to have stopped in 1965. Too bad. Not going to happen. But you've done the one thing that you can do in such a situation -- move to someplace that is forty years behind the curve. I hope that works out well for you for as long as it lasts...

The majority of current 'illegals' were legal at their time of entry, and far from being a pack of socialists, they are predominantly conservative Catholics with generally traditionalist views. All they really want is a shot at the American Dream. They'd be fertile ground for Republican recruitment if it weren't for there being so many on the right who insist on stereotyping them all as a bunch of filthy mooching banditos. Not surprisingly, they don't take to that so well...

Contractors who aren't employing illegals?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone on here know of any contractors NOT employing illegal aliens in Northern NJ?

Could be plumbers, electricians, landscapers, etc. If so, can you please post the name of the businesses. I am looking to find contractors to do work but will NOT deal with illegals or those who hire them.

Thanks

lol, you must be kidding!!!! I've been a contractor for 25 yrs and in the past 10 have not seen anyone other than latins willing to work hard and show up for work. good luck and Keep looking.........
You know why contractors have got to hire illegals? Because American Carpenters, Plumbers and Electricians are strung out on Drugs!

If the Educational system took away athletic scholarships and Municipalities cut Police, Firemen and Teachers benefits you will get new people who would have to work construction jobs!!!!

I am sure if you call enough contractors you will find one that only uses american workers but you will wait a long time before they show up and finally finish your job.

Good Luck,
OOOOHHHH I wonder Why??? Tee Hee!!!!!!

If so, it would likely be anti-depressants as they try to figure out how they can continue to compete and thus meet their own financial commitments in a world increasingly dominated by the WalMart Mindset of low-prices-at-any-cost. Emphasis on the last part, in case you didn't know.

Great plan! They'll all become a source of cheap labor to build the houses for all those folks who only want to live in safe neighborhoods with great schools. Thanks for contributing to the ODL (Overall Dumbness Level). Maybe next you can carp some about how you've been made a victim of all these people who go around claiming to be victims of something or other...

If Tradesmen didn't drink and drug in the first place they would be able to compete and meet their financial commitments!!

We would not need them as a source of cheap labor to build houses If we did not have to pay the high salaries and pensions of Municipal employees. Our property taxes would be less and we would not have to double and triple up in our homes. As a result folks who want to live in safe neighborhoods with great schools would be able to stay in the neighborhoods where they live in now! Saganista Thanks for contributing to the ODL (Overall Dumbness Level). You are Obviously a Municipal employee leach bankrupting our municipalities with your pensions and no show jobs which is a cause for higher taxes that are forcing people out of their homes and to rent to illegal aliens who in return overcrowd our housing, schools, prisons, hospitals as well as reduce wages for American workers!!!!!!!

Oh, it's far worse than you imagine. I'm actually a drunken retired municipal electrician who swam into this country from Mexico in 1964. I'd go on, but I have to go over the hospital now...and then get up early for school in the morning. Have a nice day...
