Never heard of it, but holy &^%$. I just read your link and a couple of others, and it doesn't appear that the disease has been identified in deer in PA, but this is alarming for reasons I don't really want to go into right now.
Thanks for this info, Retriever.
Since it has been identified in deer in NY, WV, and MD--which essentially surround PA--I think it would be naive to assume that deer in PA are not harboring this disease, at least to some extent. The last time that I checked, deer do not respect state boundary lines.
Seriously, however, I would be very cautious about eating venison, as there is no cure for this ultimately fatal disease.

LOL, I was just going by a chart I saw of the US and where the disease has been identified, and it did not show those states. You may have had a different source.
I live in the Blairstown area and I see at least three deer a week.. a lot of times there will be more, in my opinion id your not flying down a highway you should be able to hit your brakes fast enough, although my family will hit deer once or twice a year just because there are a lot, and sometimes there in a pack with there mother. I think they need to allow more hunting or just move them somewhere.. there are A LOT of deer in the area.

But Blairstown is rural....so they should be left alone...
