I use to take the train from Morristown to Penn. It was very unreliable. In the winter it broke down frequently and often re-routed you through Hoboken. In the evening there were always cancellations on the return trips. NJT is generally pretty awful and overpriced for such terrible and unreliable service.
They don't control the New York Division , so its not their fault.... The Hoboken Division is on time 98% of the time...
There are too many cars on the road, too. It's just a big mess. If you think it's bad now, just wait until the week of the Super Bowl 2014. Start planning now.
NJT isnt about providing poor people who need transport with good pubic service its about paying pensions and benefits to retirees of "the System". When the economy was good there was enough money to keep service and feed "the System". But now the moneys out and stock market isnt growing 8% a year what has to be cut back? Not the payments to "the System" but the service.
