My friend is moving from South Edison to North Edison (~8 miles) at the end of the month. He is single and currently lives in a 1-bed condo, so he has very few items to move. Any recommendations on reputable movers in the area, and how much is he expecting to pay for the moving cost? Thanks in advance for your comments.

we used applegate moving and storage, very reasonable and did a very good job for us. i think they are a small division of arpin? anyway, i highly suggest you use the website movingscam.com. that's how i found our movers then i posted a review of them online. they came and gave a free estimate which was $1000 for a 2 bdrm apt in freehold for a local move into a house 20 minutes away. the final cost was pretty close to their estimate.

Thanks for all the comments. A local mover gave my friend an estimate of 450 for a 1/2 truck load, in-state
move. Is that a reasonable number? Thanks.

$450 is VERY reasonable. and if it doesn't work out, I also recommend Palmieri. Good luck to your friend on their move!

Arre there stairs in either residence?
That makes a difference.
Even with "few" items, the movers get tired going up and down stairs.

DO NOT USE SHELLIVANLINES. They lie and are crooks and charge more for packing materials than the actual move itself.
