THere are schools (K12) that close for the 1st day of hunting (Deer) Season, There are (K12) schools that close for college football games (away). There are school that close for local events that would make running school hard that day, due to number of sub needed, or large number of student being out.

Maybe they are days I'd as excuses to help with budget? Decrease operating costs, costs of subs, etc.
Ummmm...I hope that you--and others--are aware that all public schools have to be open for a minimum of 180 instructional days. As a result, no matter what holidays might be declared in a particular district, the students in that district will have the same amount of total instructional time as students in other districts.
The only potential cost-saving aspect of closing for a religious holiday, such as the Jewish High Holy Days, is in regard to not having to hire large numbers of substitutes.
I'm not Jewish but my district (West Windsor-Plainsboro) does close for Jewish holidays. I don't mind it because it's a democratic process. You go to board meetings, you elect people and you vote on issues. If you don't do those things, you take the default vote of whatever gets chosen.
Well then he or she does seem to have an agenda. Problem with people is they focus on one group wayy too much. I dislike all religions equally so that makes it ok for me. Singling groups out is never a good thing.
I would like to know which school district do not observe it. I don't think there are any.
I also don't think any school district have more than 20% Jewish faculties.
Midland Park, for one. Gets off for Yom Kippur only.
