We are hoping to move to Princeton and are willing to live in the surrounding areas if it helps to get to the best elementary-middle-high school "combo" for Math and Science. Overpopulation in a school is not an issue. We can also go for private school if there is one known for their Math and Science program.

All help is greately appreciated. We are also looking for family oriented areas to live that belong to the school districts or close by the private school.

Thanks!

CM

West Windsor-Plainsboro schools are the best in the area.

You know I just have to say most parents just look for good schools and could care less about math and science. Sports is where it is at. Play on Mother's Day, play all the time. Sports!

I agree that West Windsor-Plainsboro is great.

Once you have decided on a school district be sure to keep in mind that many areas here use a Princeton mailing address, but are not in Princeton or the Princeton school district. Before signing a lease on your new apartment check with the school district of your choice that your exact address is indeed within that district. Don't make an assumptiion from the mailing address.

West Windsor, Princeton Junction and Plainsboro go to West Windsor-Plainsboro, but you can't always tell simply from the mailing address, be sure to find out before you sign on the dotted line.

Also a one hour comute is acceptable if that brings better schools into the picture.

New Jersey is mainly an academic oriented state right?

Academics are highly prioritized in the Princeton area.

WW-P offers an accelerated math program A&E Mathematics - West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School D...

I am sure the Princeton district offers similar.
There are more than a dozen private schools in the Princeton area (well under an hour away) that you can research for their math and science emphasis.

A one-hour commute to where? Princeton? As I said, that's not needed, as great districts surround Princeton.

I am finding more and more that modern parents care more about the potential of a sports based scholarship than actual education. Well, that and doing their kids assignments for them so that they never know the disappointment of failing at something...so if that is academic-oriented then yeah lol.

West Windsor Plainsboro district and Princeton School districts are both highly regarded and would offer accelerated or gifted options if your children would qualify. If you can afford the housing, those are your best options. For private schools in the area, you have Lawrenceville, Peddie in Hightstown as well several others. WWP school district has been a Blue Ribbon school for what seems like forever, and their test scores have consistently been in the upper ranges for the state.

First do a search in this forum on Princeton. You will find an abundance of threads about Princeton area towns and schools.

Luckily there are many excellent schools in the Princeton area. No need for private school or a long commute.
