I would like your opinions on Orange, NJ.

I spent a weekend visiting somebody near Orange, NJ not too long ago and the Main Street was beautiful. Main Street looked much better than the main areas in some other comparable towns i've been to. The residential parts of town closer to South Orange was very nice: stunning. I know that the opposite part of town could very rough.

Are there revitalization projects going on/proposed in Orange?

Any kind of information would be appreciated.

Are you sure you weren't in West Orange's side of Main Street? You can easily just walk into West Orange. Orange is very small and not a good town. Just urban decay, but not as bad as East Orange.

All Oranges now have Urban Renewal Plans , same with Newark , Harrison and 120 other dense Railway towns and cities in NJ.... Street scaping , Transit upgrades and Expansions , Encouraging businesses to clean up there story fronts...like you see in the Ironbound and Forest Hill section of Newark...adding bike lanes and making Pedestrians journey safer along with capping I-280 with a Park or building...

Don't wanna give too much info but the the house was around Berkely Ave and the part of Main Street we visited the "House of Liquors" and walked up and down a few blocks from there.

Is that Orange-Orange or another town?

I find it hard to believe you thought Main St. was "beautiful". I mean, if 99 cent stores and fried chicken joints are your thing then ok. But Orange in general is a pretty bad town with a lot of crime. Orange and East Orange are pretty bad for the most part. West Orange and South Orange are much nicer.

there's a decent amount of main street in orange that is perfectly nice during the day. it's reasonable for his/her assessment depending exactly where he/she was.
