I still havent eaten there but the Sonic on Rt 46 is starting to become a normal place again they had lines that wrapped around another restruant and right into the highway then they started to have police officers not even allowing people to wait but know it still seems very busy but I dont see those ridiculous lines anymore.
There's been a "SONIC Coming Soon" sign posted on an empty lot on Rt 22 in Green Brook for months now. They still haven't even broken ground on the building though.
Construction just started this week on that Sonic. Will probably wind up as another summer cruise in place just like Fudruckers.
Wow! Sonic has to be the worst place we attempted to eat at! My husband had a hamburger and the kids had something resembling cheeseburgers! Yuk!! Mystery meat!
Driving up Route 17 just before the Bendix diner it's always packed, and they also have a Hasbrouck Heights cop making sure you dont park on the curb... I mean seriously? These people should probably get introduced to a salad...or... HOME COOOKED FOOD..... (A dying phenomenon)

That's how the Rt. 72 one was. The sign was up for months with no action. I'm on that road every day and I never even noticed it being built and sudden it was there!
I finally made it to the SONIC in Has. Hts recently - because there are no more lines - and I can now officially say this...... ANYONE who waited in line for HOURS to eat there should have their head examined.
Ewwww , there are plenty of Regular Drive In's still in NJ. Theres a Few in Essex County. Sonic is terrible.
