Why didn't they ever put levees in NJ?

Do you mean starts to drain?

With Irene I know that our town (in central Jersey) the water had started to recede but some towns in northern NJ were still having major issues 3 days later with rivers continuing to rise and flood.

Gassed up the cars today. I plan on using them to power my house. Worked well during Irene for 3 days.

I've been upstate since Thursday at a prof conference. Cuomo declared a state of emergency for NY yesterday. Haven't really had time to pay attention and was so tired this afternoon I got back to my hotel, put the TV on and fell asleep--woke up to a guy talking about hurricane Irene and its projected path. He said it twice--Irene. That caught my attention so I opened my eyes and at the end the guy said, "More later on Hurricane SANDY." Someone must have held up a sign or something saying "This one's Sandy, you moron." LOL.

Already got a notice from my employer that our offices will be open Monday and employees are expected to make every effort to get to work if they can do so safely. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, that.

Ah well, will be driving back to the Garden State in the morning.

I believe the point is that they're asking how you're using a car to power your house....not how good it is for you.

I'm guessing a big power inverter?
