Ask the folks in Wayne, Pecquanack, etc if it was a catastrophe.

My roommates girlfriends parents were still displaced 6 months after Irene.

Buying a generator is some of the best money I've ever spent. Just be sure you stock up on gasoline before a big storm, if gas stations don't have power you can't get gas. And if only some gas stations don't have power, that ones that do have power will sell out of gas quickly.

Also, be sure to run it periodically and check/change the oil. Its not good money spent if it won't work when you need it!

You and I think the same. I've got enough beer to last me at least a week, plenty of Jameson incase it gets cold, and two big bags of pretzels.

Bring it, storm.

your post is totally inappropriate. how do you pick the words you want to see and ignore the words you dont want to see and not figure you are being totally ridiculous? i said "many" of the people with damage didnt prepare. i didnt say everyone who had damage didnt prepare.

Nah, I just think the 'smart ones' prepare for the 10% scenario. Some may feel smart by not being prepared and the storm misses them... but I call them something else: the "lucky ones".

its funny how everyone makes this an issue about being prepared. yeah, thats why women will bring up the storm to every single person they talk to over and over and over again. its about being prepared. sure.
