I just came across this link and was incredibly moved by Zoe's story. They were trying to raise $5000 to pay for bills and they've raised $25k almost overnight.
I've never posted anything like this but that child's letter and plight just broke my heart. Take a look:
I attended a candlelight memorial for the parents in Randolph. Zoe spoke and was incrediby composed. This is a family that needs and deserves support from the community.
I read the article as well, very sad. I do wonder why these people were out driving during a state of emergency, at 7:30 pm in the middle of a hurricane with two young children in the car though?

I think you're getting a bit too close to blaming the victims here. I think the tragic story stands on its own and the children merit support.
The family owned horse stables and a riding center in Long Valley and had been there finalizing efforts prepare it for the storm and were on their way home.

I am not sure whether it is considered as (too close to) blaming the victims, but I wondered the same as well.
This morning while driving to work, I heard on the radio that some one died from carbon monoxide because of a generator in an attached garage and with the news going on, I also wondered why people are still putting generator in an attached garage. But then I thought people may have their own reasons to do what they did. It is really sad.
