Hello,
We are planning to move in about a year. I am a registered nurse and my husband will be completing electrical engineering school then. My husband is originally from Cape May, NJ and we are considering moving to south New Jersey Cherry Hill area. We like the proximity to Philadelphia and we were planning a trip there when Hurricane Sandy came so we didn't make it up there. Can anyone tell me if this is a safe, family friendly area with good schools and a lot of outdoor recreational activities? Also, we would be looking at houses in the $500,000 range. I would really like a house with character and tree lined streets. Any advice on surrounding areas that meet these requests would be appreciated as well. Also, is it possible to find our lines of work easily and commute less than an hour? We don't mind crossing to Philadelphia to work but I don't know how that works with taxes... I realize this is a lot but we are hoping to see if some of the above wishlist could be met in this area prior to looking for work there. Thanks in advance for your help.
you can look around haddonfield and collingswood, nice areas with walkable downtowns, and patco subway to philly from both towns. according to trulia, there are many homes for sale around 200k and 300k.
