Update since my last post: They've started calling again, grand! They even asked her if I was interested in coming to see their inventory. She told them I only drive Jeeps, they tried to tell her about all their comparable vehicles. Yeah, no.
Why can't this dump be in a part of Totowa the floods?
People make to much of a production when buying cars. Go to the dealership find a car you like, get approved for financing and leave with your new ride.
i've never had a real great experience with buying a car from a big name dealer. I'll probably buy from a Mom and Pop used dealer next time.
When I got my Subaru from James Toyota, we had a nearly newborn with me. We had agreed on the price any everything (they were washing the car and preparing the documents, which took 2 hours) and so I told my wife to go home with the baby who was upset. Of course, as soon as they saw my wife leave, they decided that was a good time to raise the price a bit with me stranded an hour from home, late for work, etc.

Or, handle your personal finances more prudently, save your money over a period of several years, and pay cash.

Well, apparently, James Toyota no longer exists.
It seems that Fred Beans, a mega-dealer from PA, bought the James Toyota dealership a few months ago. So, things may actually be worse there now, after the dealership was purchased by someone who owns...a lot of dealerships.

That's how I've done it since the late 80s.
If my cash offer doesn't talk, I walk.
Plus, like another poster stated, use a small, family owned dealer if possible.
I've bought a few cars from McGuire Chevrolet-Cadillac in Newton and have never been sorry.
