We need some help here! We are looking to buy a home in the next few months, but are having major difficulty in deciding on location! We would definitely like 3-4 BR, spacious home with a large yard for our 2 small children, and live in a safe neighborhood with good elementary schools. But we prefer something that's not over 50 years old! We need to have a decent commute into Newark.
Is this possible in the Morris county or Edison area? We have been looking forever and are coming to the conclusion that we may need to just go further west, or maybe further south! But we'd like to stay near our jobs and family, which are in northeast NJ.
Where to look?? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!
How does Mahwah sound? I have a friend who has a split level on a .5 lot and it`s a 4 bedroom house. I know it might be further for you but let me know if it`s something you would consider. It`s in Northern Beregn county with a commute of about 345 mins to Newark again I`m not sure if this is what your looking for.

You could also look in Cranford ,Clark ,Avenel and Colonia
There are homes in those areas that meet your needs
For the 400s price range Union is probably the best. Very good elementary schools with high education level, close to NY with all the highways going to NY. There are some beautiful sections like Battlehill, Livingston, Putnam Manor, Larchmont estates, or Fairway and plenty more. Try to stay away from Vauxhall or Brookside sections of Union especially Vauxhall. I am a real estate agent in Union and we have to know all the data about town and schools
Check out the part of Piscataway that is closer to Dunellen train station.
