I was just wondering how it would be during rush hour and at other times. I am not that worried about the morning commute as I am used to going to the gym prior to work so I may just join a gym close to work so I can leave early but certainly I would like to get an idea as well if I were to leave later how long it will take say if I left at 8am or 8:10am. What are the main times of the worst traffic on 80 going west in the morning. Or what time would I need to leave Hackensack (5 minutes from 80) to safely be in Budd Lake by 8:45am given no bad weather conditions.

If I were to leave Budd Lake at 5:45 pm how long would it take on most days to get back to Hackensack.
I spoke to someone else and he said I would be going against traffic but I am not sure. Any advice is appreciated.

80 West is easy riding compared to 80 east in the morning. In my experience, there is essentially no traffic on 80 west in the morning, so I think the route estimate would be fairly accurate. Once you get off 80 and head into Budd Lake things might get a little bumpy, but I have not had to drive into Budd Lake in the morning so I can't give specifics on local traffic.

Yep. Like MJJersey said, you should be driving against the morning rush heading west on I-80 in the am and again on the way home except for a few spots and taking into account the inevitable snarls due to weather, accidents, etc.

The only places you may hit some traffic is near the 280 and 287 ramps. Once you learn the traffic pattern you'll know when to stay right and when to stay left, etc and it shouldn't be much more than a slow down.

great I was really worried about this. It sounds like I do not have to leave to early to get there.

Yeah that's perfect: If you were commuting the opposite rush hour and direction I would say forget it. Maybe you'll eventually move to the Budd Lake area--it's very nice.

Good question. There is not much industry out that way, except M&M Mars in Hackettstown.

err does M&M mars even generate that many jobs or are the jobs there just poor slave wage jobs. Any worthy jobs there? cause NJT barely serves that place at all.
