Marital arts, or martial arts?
There is a significant difference between the two (or at least, there should be)!

In other words, are you trying to give your children early training in how to be a good spouse, or do you want them to learn about self-defense?

Not sure if the one in Bi-State Plaza is still there, but I used to go to that one when I was a wee lad. A lot of other kids from town went as well.

Did you learn to be a better husband as a result of that training, or did you learn about self-defense?
We are still in the dark regarding whether the OP wants, "marital arts training", or, "martial arts training", for his/her children.

Both. It was a very robust program. I can take care of doing the dishes while fending off an intruder at the same time now.

Careful, kids TKD is very expensive. Most places want you to sign a yearlong contract, buy their stuff, and pay for belt tests. What looks inexpensive at first adds up. Some places mix young kids with teens or older kids, which I dislike. They also allow kids as young as four or five to "spar". Four and five year olds have poor control, and really poor aim. Maybe sparring should wait.

BTW I hold two blackbelts so I am in favor of studying martial arts. I'm divorsed, maybe marital arts would have helped

Does the local Y have a class? Its cheaper

My son does karate at the Ridgewood YMCA and the instructor is AMAZING. He's been there for almost 4 years now and we love it. The instuctor also runs a family owned school in Oradell called Faustini Institute.
