With today's cars and the front ends, a tow bar is less useful than in the past. flat towing some cars with today's modern drive trains can damage them.
I'd say work a deal out with the mechanic who either has a tow vehicle or has one he would use.
I just remembered, if your clutch is stuck, it is possible to still drive it, if it doesn't disengage that is.
You can start it in gear, then there is a shift point between gears where you can shift from one gear to the other. If the clutch doesn't connect anymore, that is different.
I've driven a car several times like this.
That still would be okay. meaning you cant disconnect the clutch by pressing your foot down on the pedal. As long as the clutch still works meaning it connects the turns of the engine to the transmission.
If so, you leave the motor off, push the stick to first gear, then start the engine, it will roll the car forward as you start. Then there will be natural speed ooints you can shift from gear to gear without using yhe clutch. When you come to a red light, etc you dhift to neutral, turn the engine off, start in first and so on.
Sorry was typing on phone, out of office today, but if the engine and tranny are still connected that way and you just cant disconnect them normally, mwaning stepping on the clutch, you pick a relatively stop free driving route and start wgere you can go straight forward.
Very doable, its something you get the hang of, like driving a stick shift car, its sort of the next step.
