Hey, I didn't particularly like him or dislike him, but he served 3 terms so there were obviously a lot of people who disagree with you guys.
i am not judging his service as a mayor. its before my time, i wasnt paying attention and its not really a subject that interests me. im just judging his behavior in more recent years.

I even ran into Ed Koch walking through midtown once. He was quite myopic. His answer to Jersey City getting developed as a modern office center was to make up a scene where he was boarding up the Holland Tunnel.
Instead he could have asked the developers to make it easier for people to get in and out of NYC, improve parking at NJ train and PATH stations, less cars in NYC which they always are barking about, but no he just made believe he was going to board up the tunnel with planks to keep his kingdom from making any progress.
He hated his Jersey roots. I was shocked to find out he spent a big chunk of his life in Newark.
I think he just did all that to get more votes. The crime rate was pretty bad under him though. He was supposedly a "tough on crime" type of politician but none of his methods worked that much. Even if the crime rate was improved, the crime in NYC was still terrible.
