What jerseyjersey said. There is a sticky at the top of the page with questions that will help us give you suggestions.
Frankly, your question that I bolded has become something of a source of amusement on this forum. Do you realize that more than a quarter million residents of NJ commute to NYC every day? EVERYONE would love to have a town with an easy commute to NYC, great schools, and not too expensive; unfortunately, there's that little supply-and-demand thing that drives up prices when everyone wants the same thing, especially in the most densely-populated state in the country and especially in the part of that state closest to the country's largest city.
Not trying to discourage you from posting--just giving you a reality check. Now, on the positive side, most of New Jersey has good school systems, so you should be in luck with choices there. On the "easy commute" and "not too expensive" ends, there might need to be a little more analysis.
Post your info as per the questions, and we'll see what we can do!
