When I go into a supermarket just before a storm (usually to buy lettuce, or cauliflower, or something else from the produce department), I am always amazed at the number of people buying...you guessed it...bread, milk, and eggs.

That's just odd. Bread and milk as a staple of meals? Yuck! To me it would make more sense to buy pasta rice,beans, and frozen veggies to add to other items.

When you are afraid you can't get to the store, you don't say, "Oh my GOD, I might run out of FRUIT for the children!"
You need milk to drink and for cereal and you need bread for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Kids are not going to be impressed that you have enough beer or rice and beans in the house.
