newark has areas that are not safe for anyone
newark has parts that are like hell on earth
newarks schools pi$$ away more money and turn out more functioning illiterates than any other district in NJ
did I miss anything?

those are all real facts, no bias here, nobody in their right mind would consider moving there and the majority of people who do live there (excepting down neck) are trapped there by their circumstances, if they could leave they would.

ok so to say it has the most murders in nj is a slanted statement ignoring the fact the Newark is more than twice as big as every other city in nj not named jersey city or Paterson. which by going by that logic Newark is home to largest population of njers that haven't been murdered.

Newark's main industry is insurance and its also the 2nd highest amount of carless households following nyc ... you do the math here buddy...

what city doesn't have drugs ... even boston has those places ...

forest hill and university heights are also neighborhoods that have a very desirable quality to them...

I was raised in Newark, Ironbound section in 60's and 70's then Bloomfield ave... I left the country in 77....lived in PR, FL, & MA....EVERY STATE has bad areas... Before I left... Everybody got along....U said Hello...U got Hello back...Please and thank you were widely used then too... I am now 63 yrs old and back in Newark...N.6th & Bloomfield Ave...I understand a lot has changed... What I want to know is where are the drug-infested streets in my area so as not to go anywhere near there....I'm too old to physically defend myself like I used to...with that being said...Can ANYONE pinpoint those areas for this little old lady that if it wasn't for my mom needing me, I would never have come back....Would appreciate honesty please...
Thanks, Mystyk1254

I'm a little vague on the streets names but ill try to help based on memory. The area by the graveyards close to east orange is huge for heroin sales, mlk and 7th that area. is infested with drugs by the warehouse district, the area area bordering irvington and garden state parkway are filled wit,h drug spots.seth boyden off frelinghuysen is bad in the abandoned buildings. And yes , close to you is a lot of drug dealing.
