A stupid movie theater owner in Missouri had someone pop into the theater with a fake assault rifle to "scare" people at the end of Iron Man 3. A few takeaways:
Za
1 - after Aurora, only an idiot gun nut would consider this a funny "prank"
2 - law-abiding gun owners were taken completely by surprise again
3 - prankster was lucky he wasn't used for target practice had someone gotten the jump on him
Just another crazy American gun story.
Those patrons should sue the sh*t out of that moron.
The biggest problem is that gun owners are, for the most part, no longer simple citizens with their own opinions. They're on the ideological fringe and will spew anything that the USMC, NRA, and gun manufacturers say. THEY'RE the "sheep" tyhat they call everyone else.

I wouldn't say that's true of all gun owners, but of a very vocal group of gun owners.

What a lot of NRA members forget is that they used to be about gun training and gun safety and as recently as 15 yrs ago supported reasonable gun legislation. Now they're just useless shils for gun manufacturers under the guise of defending "our God-given rights" Gun makers just want to sell more units like the cigarette makers used to and like cigarette makers, could care less about the effects on society.

Well, it's certainly rather odd that, for instance, an NRA convention (apparently something that occurs only for the pleasures of "fringe" elements) can draw more civilian attendees than the Democratic and Republican national conventions combined.
The only fringe elements I've personally noticed in the post-Newtown 2A freedom debate are the usual oddball collection of urban plutocrats and the dolts who parrot their rhetoric ("reasonable gun control") on internet forums.

Oh, and let's not forget those charming moms...
WWE outdraws most sports as well. Ever seen that petri dish of a crowd?

Hmm, yes, the audience garnered by sports-entertainment is a beautifully relevant comparison here (and on that note, I'll guess that, perhaps, WWE fans aren't actually a fringe element).

Well said...most of my friends are college educated and have white collar jobs. They're family folks that are as boring as you can get and they all have guns. You would never know it. Not the fringe that the left tries to paint as the picture of a typical gun owner (wide-eyed, white guy, ready to shoot on the drop of a pin) so they can "confiscate, confiscate, confiscate". As Rahm says, never waste a good crisis.

Red herring, anyone?
The comparsion doesn't have to be relevant...it just has to serve the cause of painting legal gun owners a large group of crazies that have to be controlled.
