How exactly does that make any sense when we could save 12 million dollars by just including the race in the November general election? Lets this dummy spell it out. Primaries in August and then the winners go on the ballot in Nov. I admire the balls Christie has to so blatantly try and rig the election. The guy is going to win regardless if Booker is on the Democratic ticket or not. Is he scared? He is willing to cost us all 12 million dollars? What a conservative. I guess we have money to burn.

He acknowledged he could have waited about 10 more days to call for a special election and schedule it for the same day as the regular election. But, swatting away questions of politics, he said he was acting as fast as possible to let voters make their voices heard.

"I don’t know what the cost is and I quite frankly don’t care," he said. "All of the people of the state of New Jersey will benefit from it."

Had Christie not called for a special election in October and one was held on Nov. 5, the two parties could have bypassed a primary and selected nominees. But Christie said a primary was too important: "I will not permit the insiders and a few party elites to determine who the nominee of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party will be."

Really??? Is this some sad joke?

I think that ensuring that primaries take place is important. If that means August/October, then I'm fine with that.
