FYI:

3041. EHS Marching Band - Elizabeth HS
by rici, 11/5/07 9:12 ET
Competed in the All States in PA on Saturday and came back in first place with a score of over 91 points. These young people have worked really hard. The mayor and the board should do something for them. They really are shining stars in our city

My first thought? "I didn't know Edison Hollow South had a marching band!"

Congrats to them!

For decades, they've been among the best bands in the country.

Well-deserved props.

I'd be surprised if they couldn't, seeing as how you have to read music. I don't know about there, but here in FL there was an article stating that marching bands produce the more college graduates than any other sport, club or activity. I was in the marching band myself, all four years, and just about every body I know went on to college on a music scholarship.

Personally, I think it's because marching bands are like cults the band boosters (parents) and most of the kids think band = life. Yeah, those american pie kids were an exaggeration but not by much.

I remember this one time at band camp

My daughter was in the Marching Band and during band season it is like having a full time job! Practice every day after school, playing at the games and competitions make for about a 40 hour week
Plus they have to keep their grades up.

Kudos to the EHS Marching Band. Great Job!!
