I would usually say "what a shame" but we have to get our financial situation in order first this time. I am very disappointed that the 200M borrowing for the lands issue was passed though.

I love Codey's line of "it's a loss for humanity". Please, Dick, spare us the drama. It's a win or our wallets for once.

Default Corzilla invested $100K of his own $

Corzilla apparently did not get his own way with this, so he will bring it before the legislature and pass a bill. NJ is $58B in debt, you don't think any of our government really cares what the people think?

Yeah me too. It's almost like the stem cell question didn't pass because of the religious nuts, not because people are taking a stand against spending. If they were really taking a stand, the land question would have been voted down as well. Sigh.

NJ's finances are in a sad state. Stem cell research should be done by private business-namely pharma companies. Jon-Boy jumped the gun on this one thinking the voters wouldn't "read and understand" the fine print. He already had centers under construction and gave $150K of his own $$ to push this thru.

Tough luck Jonny and Dick. We're not as stupid as you think.

like someone else noted, there is no reason for government (you and me) to be funding this type of research.
If the drug companies want to develop this into a commercially viable product, they should fund it. We haven't changed to a socialist economic system yet, regardless of what the liberloon democrap politicians think

I agree....just a tad proud that the voters in Morris County didn't fall for all that BS

Why in the world should we pass a bill that would allow $450million dollars of taxpayer money to go to stem cell research? If you read the ballot it says that a passing of this bill would authorize the sale of $450million in state general obligation bonds to provide grants for stem cell, scientific, and medical research as defined in the act,at institutions of higher education and other non-profit and for profit entities in the state. Why would i want my money to go to For profit companies that will just make some drug or some procedure and charge you through the nose for ? Does that make any sense to you? I am going to pay you so that you can charge me even more than i paid?
