Good apartments to rent close to Edison, NJ (Carteret, Woodbridge: apartment complex, townhouse)

Hello All,

I have lived in North Jersey for the past 2 years and am looking to move near Edison, NJ in a couple of months as my wife works there (she would be driving). I work in NYC, so close proximity to a train station or a bus stop would be desirable.

Now, I have been looking at a lot of apartments on the web in places like Woodbridge, Metuchen, Edison and Carteret and am utterly confused by the mixed reviews I keep seeing. I am in fact going to be checking out Camelot and Bristol Station in Carteret soon but I keep seeing mixed reviews about Carteret as a place in general. I keep hearing that Woodbridge is a really good area but I can't seem to find apartments with good reviews.

I am looking to rent a 2 bedroom apartment in a nice apartment complex with good security, parking, fitness center(optional) and just a safe and clean area in general. I am willing to pay up to 1800-1900 a month if it's a really good place.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

try Victoria Park / Oxford Arms in Edison. Friend lives there in a townhouse for 1900. 3bd 2.5bath. swimming pools tennis courts couple playgrounds for the kids. Walking distance to train (sort of) or they have a shuttle. 5-6 other apartment complexes in close proximity.

Any other recommendations around the Central NJ area? Doesn't have to be in Edison as long as the drive to Edison is within 20 minutes.

Check Aspen Court in Piscataway, they are newer apartments and seemed very nice and luxurious when I visited the site a couple of years ago.
