Can someone tell how can I suggest a new bus service to NJ transit?
I see that there are no buses from Princeton Train Station to ETS(660 Rosedale Rd)
If they start a bus service, many people(lot of them) who have to commute through car can just travel by train saving both on time(frustrating traffic on US-1) and gas
they wont run something with such limited service because people will not take it. If you are 1 minute late for the 8am bus, how will you get to work? If you train is 1 minute late for the 6pm bus, how do you get home? People always wonder why they run buses at hours when only a few people are on them. They think they should cut them since they are probably losing money on those runs. But what people do not realize is that they run those later buses for people that usually take an earlier one and need to take a later bus once in a while when things run late.
Besides, those hours are probably only good for you?
Catch an 7am bus, get an 7:20 train, get into the city around 8:20, and then to work at 8:45. To get back in time for a 5pm bus you would have to leave work around 3:30. Wonder how many people work 8:45 to 3:30
All of the above post is true. NJT does a lot of research into demographics, socioeconomic data, etc. to stay on top of where their riders live and where they need to go. If you have a suggestion, though, NJT does receive comments from riders about service. Submit the idea and NJT will probably at least look into it to see if it makes sense.
But service to one employer (ETS) is hard to justify. You'd probably have better luck making a case to ETS that employees want a shuttle to the train station. The company could provide a van that leaves at regular intervals during rush hour periods to pick up/drop off employees. Or maybe contact the town. A lot of towns in NJ run a local jitney to major residential and employment areas to/from train stations.

Take a taxi/cab. Its the same situation when someone is late for a train or bus, take the next train or take the taxi
I have seen at metropark station(I know its a busy station), there are frequent buses(timings are usually when train has arrived) usually taking passengers to nearby areas(menlo park, woodbridge/fords etc)
Same thing would help here. People commuting from city(jersey city/NYC) wont have to waste so much of time and gas. Environment friendly!

I am not sure how I can collect the data, but the bus wont be empty for sure both morning and evening

Not sure what you meant by leaving work at 3:30 pm(1.5 hours spent where??)
I wasn't very particular about the hours but it was just an example
What I meant was this
7 AM, 8 AM Bus from Princeton Station to ETS (Start work at 7:20 or 8:20)
5 PM, 6 PM Bus from ETS to Princeton Station (Leave work at 4:50 or 5:50 assuming bus comes outside ETS)

To me, Its not just service to one employer(going by numbers). Its more about reducing traffic congestion on US-1 if that happens. Moreover, its all about 3-4 miles one way so its not taking too much of time
I would email NJT, thanks!
What will the vehicle and driver be doing the rest of the day?
