Which out of these towns do you think is best (please place in order) for:
1. best school education
2. best town feel & friendly people
3. best shopping/restaurants
4. proximity to highways..we know paramus wins here
5. best bang for your buck
Also, do you think that Paramus really belongs in the "GH" in DFG or in the "I" group and they just need to update the census groups? many homes we have seen are much nicer and the neighborhood feels the same as some of these other towns.

Looking at your criteria here and the fact that Ridgewood is not in this post like your one from yesterday I think your leaning toward Paramus. So what if Paramus isn't in the same DFG as these other towns? If it fits your criteria then why not go for it?

I'm not as familiar with Ramsey or Hillsdale (although I'll say Hillsdale probably has the best education and a nice downtown and from Ramsey you can get on 17 and be in Paramus in 10 minutes).

However Wyckoff gives more of a smaller town feel(for Bergen County standards) and is more wooded away from the action but still a hop and a skip from Paramus.

I highly suggest you look into Oradell. It shares a border with Paramus, has a great downtown (Kinderkamack Road) which could take you to Route 4/Hackensack (by car) and you wouldn't need to take the highway to get to Paramus's malls. It has all the amenities of Paramus but has more of an edge and provides a small town feel (there is one school for the whole town for grades K-6.)

Also keep in mind taxes. Paramus by far will have the lowest taxes on this list but you can argue it comes at a price.

Dude you are wayyyyy to obsessed with this. All those towns are AWESOME, don't just take my word for it look at the stats for each, they are all off the charts in just about everything that people shop for towns based on. The only measurable difference is name cache, in which case it's Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Ramsey,(Hillsdale, Paramus,Oradell)as one, in that order. There are very rich people and big houses in every town you've mentioned. If you are really worried about what DFG group the town as a whole falls into you should absolutely 100% move to Ridgewood, you won't be happy anywhere else.

Default Towns

I think each town has some of something on your list. I was born and raised in Ridgewood, although I've been in CT for 30 years now. Ridgewood is a fantastic town (I was not raised in a rich family - I lived in a small cape behind Somerville School not far from the duck pond. I think the schools are great there and they have a good reputation. I think Wykcoff, Oradell, and Ho-Ho-Kus are good too. (I know Ho-Ho-Kus was not on your list, but it's not too far from there). Paramus, I've always thought is a bit too busy - not to put it down - but just for my particular tastes.

Wyckoff, Ramsey then the rest.

Can also check out Allendale which IMO is better (and less crowded) than Paramus, Hillsdale and Oradell.

When we were looking for a house, we narrowed down the choices to Wyckoff and Allendale. We found a great house and property last summer in Wyckoff (before this current house buying craze) and were fortunate enough to win a 5 way bidding war.

We're not wealthy by any means and we absolutely love it here. My fiancee grew up in Saddle River (a 10,000 SqFt home where her neighbors were the likes of Puff Daddy, Jay Z etc....) and her first choice was Wyckoff. She also knows the area really well and wasn't too fond of Ridgewood (Paramus was never a consideration). I kind of liked Ridgewood having grown up in the area but I knew she didn't so I gave it up. I can't put my finger on it but I never liked Ramsey so that town was never in the mix.

ok, un minuto
in the one post you mention you have family in Paramus and want a close commute to the city. So it made some sense to ask RW vs Paramus. But now you're all over the place as those others wont make your commute into NYC any easier. Best bang for your buck in the area you mention imo = Fair Lawn.
