Just got BC's credit score back. All you BC grifters can forget about getting rtes 4 &17 paved ever again. What's gonna happen to the suspensions of your fancy Mercedes & Jags that you can barely make payments on?
The ones with the BMW X-series are going to be spraining their arms patting themselves on the back for their foresight :-)
EBWICK & NJNYMD - It seems as if my comments have "tickled" you the wrong way. Is it because you both fit my stereotype of B.C.???
The only thing more insufferable than what you describe as the typical "bergen county snobs" that drive around in nice cars and live in nice houses that they may or may not afford are the "i claim to live within my means and have no credit, my lifestyle is better than yours i.e. anti bergen county" snobs. Yes, you are a snob. You are a stereotype of typical outside bergen county residents that seem to think they know more about our county and how it should be run more than we do. Notice also how i used the word snob to describe you and your ilk.
Its funny how the word snob is thrown around a lot here to solely describe a group of people with more money than others and how they look down on those "lesser" than them, because its not solely that. Do they fit in the snob concept? Yes. But if youve ever claimed or thought, "i dont want to live there because i dont want to keep with the jones' and i hate or dont want to deal with the people associated with that town or this town", ive got news for you, you are also a snob and both sides of the spectrum are equally insufferable.
While agree on NJNYMD sentiment that term "snob" has broaden a bit, I don't see too many situations in which a less fortunate person financially has leverage over a person with more disposable income... fair or unfair. Even in situations of legalities were the law is suppose to be blind to the individual, its all too often the truth that the law is only as good as your lawyer. I lost a bid on a home in such a bad way (my agent said it was unethical and probably illegal), I came close to filing a law suite. It was clear that various parties involved knew that (a recent graduate from college) didn't have the means to hire a lawyer to follow through with the threat. And they were right. This was 6 months out of college and it was my first real serious lesson on what it means to be at a disadvantage financially. If that were to happen now, the end result would most likely be different. I'm sure many can share experiences such as these that set one's perspective.
I try to give fair chance to everyone I meet but when one person smirked at me purchasing a "Chevy" instead of an Audi, BMW, etc... it really erks me.
While many may be fixated on possessions (nice car, house etc) a good amount of affluent NJ areas earn their snobby reputations on sheer attitude. I moved into my current residence because it felt like a comfortable middle-class neighborhood. Its changing now... due to NYC bound workers in combination to easy access to commuting routes. The original residences all have pointed out a change in attitude... I agree. I predict it will get worse... as the middle class get further left behind from the incoming affluent.
As far as I am concerned, the only people that deny such exists are those that fall into that category. And yes.... even the people I know that live in certain areas of NNJ (one in bergen county) also acknowledge it but I have to admit the towns do have a lot too offer. You make friends, they don't necessarily have to choose you.
Hollageo has a boat. Now make like the Skipper and get lost on a 300,000 hour tour.

Yeah, just get yourself worked up on an internet forum about your perceptions/misconceptions.
