Wondering how Rumson/Fair Haven fared in Hurricane Sandy and how it has recovered. Are houses on the market likely to have flood damage? Was there a lot of flooding? I'm curious whether living there has added worries. The schools are great and it is such a beautiful area, close to the beach. Any thoughts would be helpful on the status of the area and inside scoop on living there in the "medium" range (ie we can't afford a mansion or anything, but probably something in the $800-900s in a lateral move).

The only parts that were affected were the low parts of Rumson on the Shrewsbury River. Most parts are high and dry even close to the Navesink as the banks are very high.

Oyster, thanks! I love that River Oaks section. So that area stayed dry ... and, are the people in that area nice?

I can't say I know anyone personally that lives on those blocks. But what I can tell you is the people of Fair Haven are friendly family oriented and down to earth.
