Hi-
We are looking to move to Monmouth County in the next cpl years- and I'm trying to get a handle on expenses- one being water. Currently living in nyc and paying 1K a year for water (home not bottled-lol)...
Can people share their costs?
My bill is for a 1800 sf semi with a cpl small 30-30 patches of grass and landscaping.
American Water Company in Middletown, NJ charged us a flat fee and then we usually had some overages because we used more water for the yard, plants, pool, 3 bathrooms, etc.
We paid a flat fee of $175 per quarter. The overages usually landed us somewhere around $200/quarter. So, about $800/year.
We pay 120 per quarter for water and sewer. Then we have shorelands water company and that's about $25 per month. A bit more in the summer. We're 2 adults, 1 child. We have a huge lawn, but we don't take very good care of it.
ETA - don't forget to check on trash pick up. Our town does recycling but we have to pay for garbage pick up through a private company. I didn't know about the sewer/water qtly fee or the trash so they caught me by surprise when we moved in.

Would love to have any input of costs for water/sewer in Monmouth county- specifically Middletown...same for trash and even any other utilities, and homeowners insurance....
