I can't even imagine what this must be like after everything else with Sandy.

HIGHLANDS - A two-story house in Highlands that was being raised tipped over on Friday, landing on top of the house next door.
No one was injured because the family who lives at the home on Locust Street is on vacation, but officials say both homes needed to be demolished for safety reasons. The home fell off the cribbing that was holding it up shortly before 11 a.m. At 3:30 p.m., crews began tearing it down, with the family's possessions still inside.
The house is owned by a family currently vacationing in Florida. They are on the way back to New Jersey after hearing about what happened.

Haven't the people at the shore suffered enough?

That is so awful. Proves people are still going through hell 10 months later.

I've come across a lot of people from other areas of the country, especially online, who think that everything is back together after Sandy and we all made a big deal out of nothing. I wish they could all see this video and get to visit parts of the shore, too. Many places aren't close to normal, and many people still aren't in their homes.

Wow that is just terrible. You know what I think of? Their prized possessions inside, not even the house itself. It said the house next door was abandoned even before Sandy so at least no one was living there.

Seems hard to believe 3 Locust (the house that got hit) actually needs to be destroyed. The corner of 1 Locust ripped a chunk out of the wall and roof, but that sort of thing happens in other areas with trees relatively frequently, and it's not necessary to tear the house down.
On the other hand, nj.com says 3 Locust is abandoned, so maybe it just doesn't matter.
