Hi , I will start working in Hoboken near River street in a couple of weeks, but not sure where to find a place for staying. My wife (non-working) will be staying with me. So I need to find a place where there is some Indian population so that she can chit-chat or spend time while am at office. Many posts suggested Edison, but it looks too for me. My budget including transportation to office is $2000. Please help me with your suggestions. Thanks
Journal Square is a good recommendation if you like urban life. Plenty of Indians in the area, and the Path to Hoboken makes it an easy commute and only a few stops away.
If you want something more suburban, you can look near Edison as parts have a large Indian population, but your commute is going to be longer. Good luck.

The path is nothing more than a glorified pain in the ass. During rush hour it's slow and makes frequent stops and off peak it's pretty much useless.

WAT?
The PATH makes all stops at all times; it has no express service. Off peak, it runs every 15 minutes. Journal Square, Grove Street, change at Newport, Hoboken, done. Nights and weekends it's JSQ, Grove Newport, Hoboken with no change. It IS a pain in the ass, but all commuting in this area is.

Ignore Fishflakes, OP. I think he might really be 12 years old.
The PATH & light rail run all day long between JC & Hoboken. It's the closest thing that NJ has to Manhattan-style transportation.
