I am on the waiting list for Erhardt Shaefer Senior Complex in Union, New Jersey and I want to know whether this would be a good place to move or should i continue to look elsewhere. I am looking for a nice, well kept, place to move to. I would also like suggestions of some other senior complexes in new jersey.

My aunt lived in Erhardt gardens for many years until she passed away a couple of years ago. The building was always well maintained. The staff seemed very friendly and they had a variety of things to do. I can't compare it to anything else since I've never known anyone else who lives in a senior's building but I thought it was very nice for what it was.

You could probably stop and talk to the seniors that sit out front and get their opinion of the place.

There is a brand new 3 story senior citizen residence in Rahway on Esterbrook Ave near Central Ave. I think the town built it, just opened a few months ago. All new. Residential area, fairly nice, yet close enough to all the stores in town and maybe a 5 minute walk from the RR station.

Here's a street view, but the place is so new, when the Google camera truck was going by it was still under construction. Also this place is about a 5 minute short walk from direct trains to NYC.

I want to thank all who responded to my post. I am so sorry it took me so long to respond. I did not receive any notifications that someone answered. I just happen to get on City Data today.
