Good point, definitely not a great commute, depends on what you are used to.

Fair Lawn area - how gay-friendly?

You won't have any problems due to the town. They won't hold a parade in your honor for being gay nor will anyone paint a nasty slogan on your door. Keep up your property, mind your own business and no one will be the least interested in your orientation. I had a neighbor a few doors up who I'm pretty sure was gay. The only question I had for him was how he got his lawn so nice.
