I wonder if anybody can explain how parking lots work in Oradell?

We are close to buying a place in Oradell and planning to commute to NYC (by train to Downtown and by bus to Midtown). Is parking available in a practical sense? How early the lots are getting filled up? Is there a chance to get a spot after, say, 8 am? Can you have two (more than one) parking permits per family?

I walked around the lots and saw "3 hours only" signs posted everywhere. It did not look promising.

Any Oradell <-> NYC commute experience is greatly appreciated!

New Jersey Transit

Per the NJ Transit website, there are 3 lots with a total of 223 spaces for parking, all of which are resident permit parking only.

Oradell Police's site has parking regulations at the bottom of their page: Oradell Police Department - Oradell, NJ and I'd suggest you contact them to confirm it, but I'd assume it's correct.

Those can be summarized as: The 3 hour parking is for if you don't have a permit. You can only get a permit after you've switched your driver's license and car registration to the new address.

Otherwise, I have no experience with the town and can't answer the rest of your questions. Perhaps ask the police department if you're guaranteed a spot with a permit?

Thank you. I saw their Police Department Page.

I still hope to hear from folks who have first hand experience.
