1. Why do mortgage companies INSIST on using a mixture of legal size paper and letter size paper? Given that all the forms are computerized, and mostly generated by vendor applications, why not make all the paper sizes to be letter? It would be so much easier to file and manage all that mountain of paperwork.

2. A typical survey or deed has statements like "All that certain tract and parcel of land, situated, lying and being in the Township of BlahBlah..."

OK, "All that certain..." makes it flowery, pretend-Old-English-y, but what's with the redundant "situated, lying and being"? Don't all three mean the same thing?

That's legalese for you. Lawyers put that in there to preserve their profession ... or egos.
