Finally got into Housing Authority and OMG! I am disabled so I'm living in the senior/disabled hi rise and smh, lots of young ppl, and you wouldn't be able to tell that this place is for the seniors/disabled lots of shady activity, the alarm is constantly going off, one elevator is always out of service and when the heat is on the pipes clang all day and all night, LOUDLY, I kid you not, all day and night. Like a car backfiring, what do I do? If anyone knows who I contact pls help because I've reported this and have yet to get relief.

If you contact the DOJ they will immediately assign a US attorney to investigate Christie's link to this dangerous situation.

You might want to write senator Booker.

You get what you pay for --but wait, you probably aren't paying nothing or very little.

@2 good it's little, but that doesn't mean that one should have to live that way,.after all its not free. So if a market rent paying tenant was having the same problem its supposed to be handled asap because they're paying more?

I think that the OP's point is that he/she is not "paying nothing" for this housing, and thus has some reasonable expectations for a habitable abode.
Or...are you unaware of the concept of a double negative?

It would either never get that bad, or be handled in a reasonable amount of time because someone paying market rent could just move to another apartment.

To answer your question, here is the contact info for newark housing authority:

This person is disabled. What's up with the crude comments? You should be grateful that you're not disabled, and have to be subjected to that kind of housing situation.

You've met the OP? You know that they are disabled? Or, is it that some doctor has said it?
That aside, Newark Public Housing is corrupt, and has been so for decades.

A few years ago, a previous Director had his office re-done, and a high-def TV installed, while buildings rotted?
Before him, IIRC, a Hasid Director was forced from his job in a scandal, then re-surfaced as the Director in Lakewood, where he promptly issued apartments only those who were "Chosen", in a special process.

I think those you people are either disabled with mental issues, illegally living with someone,or spouses/children of the elderly.
