I was parked at a meter, but half of my car was past the meter because of the idiot that parked behind me was past his (or her) meter, resulting in the front half of my car being in the bus stop.

The douchebag metermaid decides to write me a ticket, but does not write the entire address under the location of violation section of the summons, only the street name (even though there were buildings where I was parked).

Do you guys think I have a chance of beating this ticket? I took pictures, hoping maybe the judge may be a little sympathetic...

No one has any right to write you a ticket nor extract any money from you, however it is the locally written custom and locally written law.
In many cases they make you feel glad they did not steal (tow away) your car as you pay the extortion.

Regarding fighting a parking ticket,,,you can fight anything. Without any idea of the town, judge, local customs or demeanors, cost of fine, we would just be guessing at any answers. I don't think they really care about addresses on parking ticket locations.

how much is the ticket for? yes the person behind you sucks (maybe they were in the same position as you with the person behind them parking bad?) anyway, when it comes down to it your car was in a bus stop and if it were me i would have been pissed about the half spot but i wouldn't have parked. chances are that fighting the ticket is not worth the time/cost involved. live and learn?

How much is the ticket?

Only reason I'm asking is once my wife got a parking ticket which she shouldn't have gotten. The ticket was for $20. I told her to go to court to fight the ticket. After waiting 2 hours, she was finally called up by the court agent who said she could fight it but if she won, she'd have to pay a court fee of $25.

Definitely look into any potential 'court fees' you'd be on the hook for if you fight the ticket in court.

The meter number should be on it.

The average midsized car is 16 feet which would put you eight feet into the Bus Stop. Maybe you should have passed up that spot.

You don't pay court costs, when acquitted.

If the vehicle was in the bus stop, it would not be in a metered spot.
OP seems more like a "space half-empty", than "space half-full" sort!
