I am going to East Orange, NJ this weekend and I have been trying to figure out how much its gonna cost me to get there. I am coming from MD.

I have to go threw alot of tolls, or at least thats what Yahoo Maps says. There are at least 5 tolls. I am trying to find out if anyone knows how much they cost and if it is a charge both ways.

If you know a site where I can find out this info that would be useful too.

Thank you

You can avoid the NJ Turnpike charges, partially, if you take I-295 from the state line of Delaware up to Exit 7A. Just get on I-195 east prior. The tolls through Delaware are unavoidable, however. If you want to go a little further on 295, you can take Rt 1 North, up to the Garden State Parkway, and you will only have to pay one toll in the entire state of NJ which is the Union Toll Plaza. Now its 70 cents one way, but I don't know which way (want to say south). Then you get off Chancellor Avenue exit if you don't want to pay again, and take the frontage road to Springfield Ave, which will get you to East Orange.

Incidentally, the toll in Delaware is 4 dollars, I think both ways. The state seems to raise this toll constantly. The toll for the bridge from Delware to NJ is 3 bucks, but only one way, going into Delaware. Going into NJ there is no charge.

I would not take the NJ Turnpike coming home, because there seems to be a perpetual bottleneck at exit 8A when 6 lanes are forced into 3.

you've forgotten the toll in MD, around $4 , and if you need to use the baltimore tunnels that's another toll
and the toll in DE is easily bypassed just scan a map and you'll see
