Current thoughts on Jamesburg (house, neighborhood, elementary school)

We are house hunting and have found a lovely home in Jamesburg near the elementary school. We are considering putting in an offer but would like more feed back on the area. From what I have read in past threads, this town has pretty mixed review. Would love some updated feedback. Thanks!

We looked at a house there, seemed like a nice neighborhood. I don't know much about it, though.

Nice town, bad spots here and there but police present makes it safe. You need to elaborate on what you mean by mixed review and what you would like know.

Great place with a charming downtown and a great park (Thompson Park). Everyone is very friendly and has pride in the community. I've lived here for almost 10 years and can't picture living anywhere else. The mom and pop shops are great - you can get almost anything within town and at a pretty competitive price. The small town events like the Memorial Day Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, July 4th Fireworks, Fall Festival and many many more are awesome. Small towns like this don't exist anymore.
