Quick question, as Im aware majority of the self serve car washes only accept like $5 worth of coins and who the hell has that on them nowadays. Has anyone seen one where you can use credit/debit in NJ?

Frankly, I don't know of any self-serve car washes that are going to open themselves up for swipe thieves. Most of the places have coin changers. Bring a few fins, feed the machines and get the quarters.
I ran into this problem just last weekend, wanting to get rid of a significant amount of road salt on my car.
In my case I had no singles nor ones nor $5's or $10's since I just came from the ATM machine.
I did not want to use a $20 in the change machine for a $2.25 or $2.75 car wash and have $17 worth of quarters floating around.
The next day I went back to a self service car wash that was closed due to freezing the night before and brought singles BUT found the car wash had debit or credit card readers built in. So yes they finally figured that out.
Otherwise you can usually take a $5 or a few $1's and there is a quarter coin changer that will give you that many quarters.

Yes they have that in my town or you can pay with whatever cash you have. The min to start the wash is 3.00 dollars.
I remember seeing a self-service car wash that was part of a gas station, and you go inside and pay the fee and the attendant gives you some sort of token that you put into a machine before you drive in.

Shammy Shine in Clinton on Old Route 22 accepts debit/credit. That's where I go to knock the mud off of my truck so it doesn't end up in my driveway
