Has anyone had experience in this issue, I have a few questions...

Is it possible to avoid so much, you won't be called into court?

What if the server says Mr. XXX, you've been served, and that person is not Mr. XXX, but only coming out of the house, or just living there with Mr. XXX, can you say you have the wrong guy, but what if they walk straight away after dropping papers in front of your face?

So far, this person has been coming to the house for the past 4 nights, will this server try to live in his car outside the house, I mean will it get like that bad?

I was told you could call the police if a server is waiting outside your door and constantly knocking for a long time, harassing you, if you do that, will the officer make me accept the papers, or tell the person to leave?

Again, I am not being sued, it's just about an ugly divorce case, where I would most likely have to testify against a friend, thank you if someone replies

As I read it, for a summons to a defendant they can serve it by delivering it to any member of Mr. XXX's household over the age of 14.

RULES GOVERNING THE COURTS OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY

But for a subpoena for a witness, actual personal service is required.

It looks like the only limit is the subpoena has to be served 5 days before the trial. You could be ducking process for a long time.

You will eventually be served. Stopping ducking it.
