I live in southern NJ and have an interview in the city and Ive never done this before. For the interview , I don't really care about the money(although I'm not driving into NY) so I'm just curious whats the quickest way. I was just assuming to go as far north as possible and then take the train..maybe from seacaucus or hoboken or is there anything quicker( I would rather be on the train for as short a time as possible)?..and if anyone could provide how long each one takes...also if people could provide prices and then where to park.
Driving in nyc is stressful especially if you are not used to it. I would drive to Metropark and take the train from there. Takes anywhere from 37-50 minutes on the train and its direct. There is tons of parking at the station. Secaucus is another option but coming from south jersey you are going to get killed with traffic if you are going during morning or pm rush.
the interview is at 1:30 , but I also scheduled another interview before that so sometime im assuming at like 12-1230..I also wouldn't want to drive in because if I get the job..I want to know what its like taking the train everyday before I would accept the position.
tdstyles..how long is the train from seacacus to ny..I'm trying to get the quickest train possible..also what about hoboken?..also where would I park in seacacus or hoboken
I agree with tdstyles. I don't think you'd save any time by driving to Secaucus. And the only advantage of driving into Hoboken is you could take the PATH downtown, but even if the interview is downtown, I would get on the PATH farther out.
If your interview is close to a PATH station in NYC, you could park at a lot by the Grove St. station for $10-15 and the PATH ride is only 15 minutes from Grove.
You could also take a train from a station like Princeton that takes you direct to NYC. I'd personally do this if possible. Less stress without all the driving.
