Hobokenguy/ My dad was a longshoreman for over 40 years and he worked at the piers A,B,C, across from River St. That block had about 25 bars on it right next to each other in its heyday and I(we) were in everyone of them. The only problem is I was a young kid not even 10 YOA but the mention of Pier A brings back memories of about 45 years ago. I guess I haven't been down there for awhile. Oh the Clam Broth House just around the corner. Throw your shells on the ground and someone would clean them up at the end of the day. Oh well that land on the Hudson is worth more for housing than an international industrial shipping port now.
Great view, Not many people get to see the Empire State building from there condo.
Before we moved out to the greener parts of the Garden State, my wife (she wasn't yet my wife then) & I had an apartment in Troy Towers, on top of the cliff just West of the Lincoln Tunnel. We had a 28' long wall, floor to ceiling glass, with a dead center view of the Hudson River & the Empire State building. Man, was it tough for me as a native NYer to give that up when I moved south.
I should see if I can find a few of the photos I took from that window.
Hmmmm, interesting plans. I'm sure it'll be beautiful once finished. Keep the pictures coming.
