As a former NJ resident I always hated to travel out of state because nobody ever comes out to pump your gas. What's up with that?
Not only do you have to pump your own they charge you more and you do all the work.
Those people living in PA know how to beat the system, drive to NJ let some formerly homeless person pump the gas for you and you save money.
Why can't other states be as smart as NJ?

I find it very odd when traveling in Oregon where you are not allowed to pump your own gas. Very few, if any gas stations have pumped gas in CA or WA in many years. What you are used to is your normal.

Why the thread? Is there some City-Data rule that the Jersey forum must always have an active gas-pumping thread?

Right? I don't understand how people who don't have the patience to wait a few minutes for the gas station attendant have the patience to read through hours of this stuff.
