So I got some forms that allowed me to renew my driver's license via mail. On the back of the envelope, it says that I should renew at my local DMV if it happens to be past the 10th of the month my license expires.

Does this mean that I won't be able to renew using these mail-in forms at all unless I do it before the 10th? I tried calling the DMV but couldn't get through to anyone.

I didn't even notice that. More than likely it's because it can take 2-3 weeks before you get it in the mail

I played dumb. Sent mine in around the 19th of the month in which it expired. Held my breath and thankfully it arrived on the last day of the month. I was prepared to go to MVC on the 1st if I hadn't received it.

I did the same thing. Waited too long (like until this past Friday) to fully read the "instructions".

Tomorrow the DMV and I have a date.
