This thread is really helpful. The distinctions between all the Princetons confused me as well. Now it makes alot more sense.

There are a couple of "extended stay" hotel units in the area, Hyatt Place and Residence Inn.
Another option -http://www.execustay.com/furnished-apartments/princeton/princeton.php

Don't know what you are reading but there is little to no gang activity in Princeton and West Windsor.
Trenton is a whole other ballgame, but has little influence on this area.
Parents in the West Windsor district tend to be very involved in the schools and the kid activities. It is a pretty small, tight community with little tolerence for bad behaviour.
The big complaint from the kids in WW is that this place is "BORING". They are right and as parents we love that complaint!
Be assured that you will not be moving your kids to a rough area!

 No gangs in Lawrenceville....

Educational Testing Service is a company that publishes the SAT test etc. It's located halfway between Princeton and Trenton. But somehow they gamed the system so that their mailing address is Princeton NJ, when they're not even close to it.

Rather than "gaming the system", this is due to old delivery route boundaries established--and never changed--by the US Postal Service. The southern part of Franklin Township--including Griggstown, part of Somerset, and part of Franklin Park, have Princeton mailing addresses, and that is because those areas were once extremely rural, with Princeton's P.O. being the closest one in those days.
Similarly, there are areas of Branchburg that have a Somerville mailing address, and it was only in the last decade or so that Hillsborough got their own zip code and ceased to have a Somerville mailing address.

It should be noted that Princeton Township no longer exists, it basically merged with Princeton Borough a few years ago.
