What part of the City will you be working? Downtown, midtown? If you're not walking distance from Penn Station, Port Authoritiy or PATH station than that will add time to your commute.

Many NJ Transit train lines go into Penn Station. Take a look at www.njtransit.com for schedules & to see what stops are on which lines.

For example, NorthEast Corridor line trains go into Penn Station. You may want to look at towns around the Princeton Junction Station, i.e. Princeton, West Windsor, Plainsboro. There are lots of other options for very nice towns.

I would recommend looking at Morris County. It's about 75 min by train from Morristown to Penn Station. There are other towns along the Morris & Essex train line of NJ Transit. Good schools and relatively safe communities. Lots of good choices. When you go to buy you will find that real estate taxes in Morris County are reasonable (by NJ standards). Certainly far better than the counties that are closer to NYC. Good luck with the move.

My suggestion would be South Brunswick. You have a choice of taking either the bus or the train, both of which are easily reached from SB. The schools are excellent and you should be able to rent a nice, spacious house or condo/townhouse within your budget. I travel to the city (Manhattan) frequently (I live in North Brunswick) and it takes me less than 75 min. door-to-door by train to Penn Station. Princeton and Morris County are also good choices but, housing prices may be more costly. By the way, I visited your country just last January and I was very impressed. Beautiful place and the best food in all of Asia!! Good luck in your forthcoming move...
