Hi guys, I'm looking to buy investment property. I hear some parts of NJ are getting some more tractions. Was told by a friend to look into: Journal Square, ? Heights and Greenvale. Not sure what "Heights" though as I see there are a few towns that have Heights in the name.
Can I have your input on the towns about or any other towns where real estate can be under 200K but with potential to increase in the near future because the area is safe, has good schools or becoming trendy?
I don't know much about NJ so your input is MUCH appreciated.
Apparently, the person who gave you that recommendation was talking about Jersey City, as Journal Square, The Heights, and Greenville are all neighborhoods in JC.
The Heights and the Journal Square area may be good investment areas, but the schools are...not good.
Greenville probably needs to have a large part of it demolished and to have many of the current inhabitants moved out of the area in order for it to be a good area for investment. (Translation=Greenville is not safe and is not a good area for investment, IMHO)
In any event, real estate prices are affected to a very great extent by accessibility to NYC, and because all of JC is very accessible to NYC, I doubt if you would be able to find properties for less than $200k.
Journal Square and Harrison for their PATH access would be up there.
Asbury Park and New Brunswick are having a renaissance and with the beach and Rutgers respectively you will see interest regularly. Long Branch as well.
